We've probably all done it at least once. I would love to hear your best Justification stories for why you bought something that you probably shouldn't have.

This could be a funny thread or a dud! We shall see

The recurrent one for me is that I saw a similar item that sold for more. I'm trying not to be influenced so much by that.

This basically, except it can be a similar item being offered for more (at an antique shop or coin market).

For example, the first Mercury dimes I've seen were labelled $20 price, so when I found one for $7 I bought it immediately.
Rest in Peace

If I ever buy something for more than it's worth, I always justify it by saying "I've found so much silver at face, that it will make up for this or that purchase".

Then I don't feel so bad yep that is my story and I'm sticking to it!

I just bought a 20 Rappen piece from " ebay". My justification for the purchase was it would've sold for much less if I hadn't intervened

Well, I just spent 15 grand on an '08 Z71 Silverado, to tow the 25-foot camper that my wife bought without my knowledge. Can't tow the camper with her Equinox, or my Fusion.

I found a silver dime in the center console.

Totally worth the $15k. And, as a bonus, they threw in a truck.
