Sometimes you come across stuff that makes you scratch your head and this is one of those times.

It is amazing that someone sent that note in to be graded, and that it received a 4.
Rest in Peace

Should we start a poll to see if anyone thinks it will receive a bid?

And the seller listed it for $26! That not is worth no more than face value in my opinion.

Holes, missing pieces, and discoloration. A collector's trifecta!

I figured it would -- Unless there was someone out there desperate enough to add this graded washcloth to their lowball collection.

That's one rough-looking note. "graded washcloth"...indeed hahaha

Can't imagine there aren't better condition non-graded ones to be had for about the same price.

Maybe it held some sentimental value and someone had it for a low ball set.

At work, I have some random notes from my various Asian travels hanging in some float frames. In one of the China frames, there is one of those vertical notes from the 30s/40s that has more holes, fewer corners, and equal discoloration. Its as far from pristine as won could hope for; a true "survivor" that proudly won't let go! Kinda looks like mice got to parts of it. I chose to put this one in the frame instead of some nicer ones because the tattered condition gives is a much better story when people ask about them than a nice one could ever do. And it's worked :) As a decoration, its perfect.

I agree with davec13; must be for the low grade collectors. I was going to bid -$10; seller pay me to take it off his hands. LOL
