So the only guide I have right now is a world coin book from 2007 (which even if current I would assume inflates the value like the RedBook)and it says this coin in XF condition would be around $50, but even half of that I am not sure to get without a buyer and have only seen one example on ebay. Any thoughts about value, where to find value, and where possibly to sell? Not that I will but in the future if the need arises. Thanks all!

My gut tells me no. Maybe if the mintage is low enough on that coin it might be worth in the neighbourhood of $50, but I doubt it. I don't know about general interst in Venezuelan low-denomination early 20th century coinage but considering I've got this type coin, it tells me it's not particularily rare. Perhaps my gut feeling is wrong?

The NGC site is showing it at $4 for VF20, XF at $50, and up to $300 for MS63. It is one of the highest priced 5 centimos coins, but the challenge is always finding a buyer.

Mintage is 2 million, but it wasn't minted again for 6 years.

Yeah I saw the mintage was 2 million and the NGC site prices. And I guess by valuable I meant more than a few bucks ;P I have no idea how to grade one of these. It is definitely not UNC but telling the difference between VF and XF could be somewhere in between a $40 difference (and that is only for a buyer and that is a problem by itself). Thanks for the opinions! I only saw the one listing on ebay for $12 and mine is definitely better shape than that one.

Pay no attention to the BIN price -- always look at the prices for sold items.

That's the weird thing the prices even on the sold stuff is so varying... I guess you have to be lucky that at least 2 people that know its worth go after it? Difference of $3 to $40 there. Thanks though!
