I'm wondering... are these 25 cent actually circulating?

I've only recently discovered these coins in my drawer and do not have the latest Catalogue. J&M is listing them in the MS category however none are listed in PL which is what I think I have (released in 5 coin cellophane envelope).

I can not tell you with authority, but I believe they are circulated due to what I paid for mine. I got mine at a coin show; around 70-cents each for the 'plain' 1812 quarters and 95-cents each for the coloured ones. It's true that they all 'look' uncirculated, but I'm pretty sure that it would have cost me triple (at least) if they were truly from mint sets or PL varieties.

They circulate, none were struck for collectors, there are no prooflike strikes, only business strikes.

DBM, if these are circulation coins then wow - the mint did a really good job. The relief and mirror surfaces are simply awesome.

Thanks for the info.

They are circulation coins.
Together with buying packs from the mint, I pull out of change the commemorative coins, and these also were in change couple of years ago.
But haven't seen one for a while, just because that many people take the coins out from circulation.

Yes, all of the quarters from the 1812 theme are circulating. I found a few in change last month.
