I know a lot of people zip lock their coins with a sacrificial cent in the bag. Rather than ruining a cent, why not use one of the copper bullets or a copper round? It has a larger surface area and could be reused over and over again. I have some Copper 1 ounce bullets sitting in my safe and in zip lock bags. Do you think that rounds would be better than cents?

Sacrificial cent?

To quote BadThad: 'I put one in the sealed ziplock with my coins. Copper will react with hydrogen sulfide and many other gaseous substances. I also put desiccant in the ziplock. The more layers and other protection, the BETTER!"

It doesn't matter what you use, it's just that a copper cent is convenient since everyone has one.
