Is this Machine Doubling on this 1962 Canadian nickel?
Note that the beaver has a heavily doubled outline as well the date and Canada.

Wild! Love the extent on the date. I think it is Machine Doubling, the secondary image seems shelf-like to me.

Hi Coin Scavenger

You can see a montage here for this coin.

See the eighth assembly.

Probably these two coins were struck by the same die.

( Die Deterioration Doubling)

Here is a good image of that same coins from Ken Potter's website:

Would this also be Die Deterioration Machine Doubling, and if so would it be double die?

It's either Die Deterioration or Machine Doubling, I'm leaning toward the former, but neither would be a doubled die.

A doubled die occurs during the creation of the die, while Machine Doubling occur during the striking of the coin.

Could this be a die shift then? On ebay a 67 half was in a TPG cover with double die #3, what would be worthy of double die status? The pictures were bad, and now I can't find it to resurch more. Thanks for the interest I'm definitely learning a bit.

My guess would be Machine Doubling, it's all in the same direction and shelf like.

Cheers, Bill

I'm referring to the 1967 50 cent.
