Die Crack In 1917 Half Dollar 1917?

Take a look at the horizontal line near the center of this coin. Is this a cracked die? Under my magnifier it does not look like a scratch on the coin itself, but I cannot be certain about that. And it doesn't extend into the figure of Walking Liberty; it's only in the fields beside her. There's nothing like it on the reverse side.

Hard to tell from the image. It could also be a crack in the Half Dollar plantchet. If it has a ridge its a die crack, and if it look reassessed its a crack in the coin its self.

If a coin has a lot of ware like this one that could be hard to determine.

If I had to guess I'd say it was a crack in the coin.

The coin has multiple scratches, PMD.

I agree that it's a scratch. The scratch occurred a while ago, covering Liberty, but eventually wore off her.

Scratch. Reverse pics would be needed.
