Hi all. New here. What am I looking at here? Is this a legitimate variety?

Looks like a slightly toned 1980 LMC with a couple of gouges and other PMD. Not a variety but it does have some character. Worth 1 cent. Sorry, go fish.

I am looking at the two lines above the date. In the photo, it looks to me like they are raised right at the rim. I cannot tell further in the coin for sure, however, but the lines appear to be scratched into the coin which would suggest PMD. If they are raised at the rim, I do not understand how that can be PMD. It doesn't look like metal pushed up from a hit either.

Thanks for the input guys. This looks like a great place for me to be. I have to admit, all of the varieties are overwhelming to a beginner!
