I was learning how to use my new microscope and lo and behold I "found" this, don't know if others have seen this before but it's a first for me. == E/E in ONE

Here's obverse and reverse; apologies but I'm still learning how to use this $35 microscope; but the fun I'm having is worth it for what I've "discovered" == == Enjoy and if you need anything else let me know.

Nice coin techwriter, I looked at ours and don't see the E/E on it. Where did you get a $35.00 microscope if you don't mind?

Been doing some 'trolling' looking for this E/E and found four of them for sale; also found others without the E/E. Got to wondering if the E/E were produced by the one set of dies discarded by The Royal Mint; just conjecture on my part. There are no records as to how many die sets were actually employed by the Mint for the 1885 1 cent coins. I keep 'trolling'.

I got a small USB microscope with 200x magnification off Amazon as well, cheapest one I could find came to a total of $23... but I also signed up for an Amazon credit card at the time which gave me an instant $15 off so I got it for a whole $8. Then when the card came in the mail I immediately cut it up and discarded it as I never had any intention of using it. Oh yeah, stickin' it to the man!!

Sort of an update on the 1885 Newfoundland Large Cent with the E/E in ONE on the reverse, I went searching on ebay and found: 1. with E/E - 17; 3 ICCS graded; 1 PCGS graded; 1 ICCS but could not see reverse; and NO mention of E/E on any 2. without E/E - 2 Wonder if that means the E/E is the rule and not the exception and the non E/E is scarcer? Just call me

Update: if you like Newfoundland coins and especially varieties you NEED the CD. Received mine last week and have already LEARNED a lot; have discussed a few things with Barry and also sent him some pictures and he's sent me a few of his (regarding the E/E I posted). == Knowledge is power == and this CD will increase yours. P.S. not much researching right now; "lost" my numismatic lab for the holidays; lab is our "holiday room".
