I agree it's a 1909-D. The designer's initials above the date are normal. If the weight checks out at 8.34 grams or so I'd presume it is a genuine piece. The 1909-D is the most common $5 Indian date and is often used as a type coin.
This piece appears mint state or very close to it. If so it probably grades MS-62. Grading services are stingy with MS-63 and higher grades for these coins.
If that is slight rub I see on the Indian's cheek and the top of the eagle's left wing the grade should be AU-58.
