I took about 2 years to fill a 2 litre jar with commemorative coins only, all denominations, all taken from pocket change.
I then assembled a double type set of the best examples.

That's a very long time! I was more considering is it worth hunting for error coins here in AUS?

I suppose I am just a lazy 'just for fun' coin hunter.
Never went specially to a bank, just took distinctive looking coins only from pocket change.

Besides, I am an old guy who needs glasses occasionally but not normally, so too hard to look for varieties when you are in the process of quickly looking at coins in hand, when making a purchase.

Nevertheless, the two incomplete sets that I have made up comprise 80 coins in each set, covering the 20 Cents, 50 Cents, One Dollar and Two Dollar denominations, all coins taken from circulation for the price of face value only. Condition ranges from About Uncirculated for a few, to MS++ for most.

As a bounus, I had about $400 worth of coins left over, for buying gas for my car. I could kid myself that I was running for free for about three months!
