I don't know if this is the right section but anyway...I bought a few rolls of 1962 proof Jefferson nickels. I was going through them and noticed a few were toning blue in color, very pretty blue. I put the rolls away. A week later I went through the same rolls and there were more toning blue. Is there something about the 1962 nickels or is it just chance?

I've seen this happening with various dates so not specific to 1962. Albeit I've noticed the bluish hue on BU coins rather than proofs.

When you mention a blue hue, it is not the color you think that would be un-attractive. It is a quite nice color. Most of these were left in the cello for years. I keep the pretty ones in 2X2's. But there are probably a lot of nice doubled dies on them. I found one in a roll that paid for a lot of rolls of these. So keep then and when your eye develops, then take another look at them. Most of the doubled dies I found were on the reverses. The EPU or USA were the most common.
