1972-S Unc Silver Ike Dollar Doubled Die Obverse / DDO / Doubled Die Reverse / DDR ?

JDRMCB Pillar of the Community United States 616 Posts	Posted 10/31/2015 1:57 pm I came across this nice Choice UNC silver version of the 1972-S Eisenhower dollar and it appears to be a DDO / DDR to me. I've looked at Ikedollardoubledie.com to see if I could find a match, but in all honesty, that website isn't the easiest to navigate. (It's actually the hardest I've ever attempted!) It probably has, by far, the most information on Ike varieties ever assembled in one place, but it all runs together in one long scrolling never ending page embedded with obscure links that will sometimes take you to an actual variety listing! Needless to say I didn't find any varieties listed for this coin, only the proof strike. Here are a few pics in which I've attempted to capture the doubling clear enough for you all to give me your thoughts and opinions on it. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/31/2015 2:08 pm I hate to break it to you, but that is machine damage doubling on your coin. Note how the devices are reduced in size. Look at dollar. You can see the "O" is reduced, "R" is reduced in size from the overall normal shape. Note on the motto, the "IN", the N is reduced in size. Thus that is the reason you could not find it listed on the sites you checked. Report this Post to the Staff
