I have had this coin for a while in an attempt to motivate me to study more on nickel doubling techniques. However, as much as I've researched, I have only managed to see that this design is only on proofs.
This is not a proof, as far as I know, it doesn't look like a proof at all. However, I have noticed that the dye may be just some dramatic
Mechanical Doubling, but it does appear to triple in spots as well. Is this possible or could this just be a proof that snuck into circulation?
Thanks for any assistance in figuring this out :).
