I don't know if this is a stretch, but since they are circulated, and printed by 'The Canadian Bank Note Company', I am hoping this is ok to post here. This is not an official collection of mine, but I am wondering if I am the only one who puts aside older Canadian Tire bills. This is my collection so far. Is there any sort of community ect for these? Since there appears to be no year printed on any ofvthese I am curious to know how hold any of them are. Thanks in advance for helping!

There's a whole club and at least two catalogues with multiple editions dedicated to these. http://www.ctccc.ca/I save some, as I find them, but am not much of a collector.

If you go to the cdnpapermoney.com forum there's a sub forum dedicated to collecting all those CT notes. I remember seeing in a recent auction a listing of CT notes .. (huge lot!!) of around $1200 in face value. I didn't bookmark that item so I don't know what the price realized was or have a bookmarked listing .. sorry.

Hi unruhjonny, I've got over $500.00 worth of these myself and I've sold a least $200 worth on ebay with great success. There are a lot more collectors of these then what you would think. As an example the yellow two in your group which is from 1989 I've found very popular. I've sold 15 or so of these and got anywhere from $5 for fine to $25 for the better ones. That's a lot more then what you would get for a1986 two from the bird series. Cheers, Bill

I haven't kept up to date on these for the past year or so but do you have some information on this because I've heard this for the past ten years and it has always been denied by Canadian Tire. I think people are misled to believe this because of the huge push they made trying to sell their CTC credit cards by offering more bonus awards if you use their card. I guess nothing last forever but in the past it's turned out to be mere speculation as they keep coming out with new ones.
Cheers, Bill

CT already offers a "My Canadian Tire Money" plastic swipe card, at least they do in Alberta where I live but I expect it's nationwide. It's not a credit card, it only keeps track of the "money" one would otherwise receive in CT bills and the value can be redeemed at the till whenever one chooses. At this point in time CT offers either option however like many things, I can see this changing in the future as things become more and more paperless.

I believe there are notes without years printed on them, but I don't have them close to confirm. And, as shafta9a said, sometimes the years are tiny.

I believe you'll find that any notes printed from 1985 and on will have the date printed on them. It will be found on the back on the note and on the outside white border with very small printing, some years it's on the top and others it's on the bottom. Most of the notes in the OP have a date except the first row. The first two are gas bar coupon dating from 1962 the Olympic coupon is from 1976 the rest will have a date.
Cheers, Bill

Local Canadian Tire owner was saying they are phasing out the bills by forcing people to use a CTC card with special rebates only, and the fact the bills are time consuming for the cashiers.

they are definately trying to phase out the bills, but if higher "returns" for using the card don't succeed they will have to either continue with the bills, or just cold turkey discontinue it.
I only keep the older looking series, I have cashed in all the current stuff, including the $1 coin that I got some time back.

Canadian Tire Stores and Gas Bars are still distributing Canadian Tire Money for cash purchases. Unfortunately, the percentage bonus is much lower than what it had been in the past, as CTC is pushing their digital Canadian Tire points, which they give a much higher percentage bonus. It also seems that the Corp has gone through their store's inventory of notes and pulled many of the older notes that were in circulation, so it is much harder to find the older series. The last series that as been inssued was the STS S34 which consists of only one 10 cent note, issued in 2017 for the 150th anniversary of Canada (image attached). There are thousands of collectors of Canadian Tire Money, Gift Cards, and other coroporate memorabilia. Please vist the Canadian Tire Coupon Collector's club web site at ctccc.ca
