63RD, diffused luster (no distinct cartwheeling), lot of reverse stains and chatter on the reverse devices.

I'd go as high as 64 but fear BadThad is probably correct.

Quote: Man NNC is good! Obviously, the grade is garbage, but he's posted 3-4 really nice coins. I was actually impressed and would gladly own those. As I recall, I think those were graded only about 1 point high. Remember, buy the coin and not the holder. After seeing some of these, I may take a closer look at a few. Every once in a while a nice coin does seem to make it into their Lincoln slabs. And after seeing the slab picture, I understand better what that coin probably looks like in hand....I can see the luster better. Looks like more flashy than cartwheel, due to the late die states. LDS tends to diffuse the cartwheel luster (they aren't as tight) but it imparts what I call a "halo effect" around the devices. It's really a different kind of luster (satin-like) and harder to bring out with a camera. Bump to MS-64 with a chance of making a 65 holder. There's hardly a hit on it and it is absolutely hammered. Great die pressure as evidenced by the strong formation of the shoulder, the O in ONE and the AM in america.

Well, if you would like to see some really pretty Lincolns in NNC holders... I think I can present some for you tomorrow!

Cool, please keep posting these. They are good for teaching/education. Try also including those farther away slab shots. I've picked-up some important clues from those pictures....mainly how it probably looks in hand. People have to remember, close-up coin pics tend to show minor flaws that really aren't evident nor important when in hand. This seems to really be true with lightly, black-stained copper. Pictures make those stains look major but when in hand they are typically minor distractions. Similarly, small hits can seem very distracting in pictures but play a minor importance in hand. These types of differences, between pictures and in-hand, are why so many people question the top 3 TPG grades all the time....from basically micro-grading. When it comes down to it - the only thing that matters is how a coin looks in-hand.
