Hey guys

I've got this Standing Liberty quarter , lots of detail and I can see good amount of luster under this dark toning ...
Do you guys think a quick dip would take some of this patina off and bring out the luster that's underneath ?

I'm thinking a quick dip will leave it blotchy as not getting all the black tone off .it will be left with bad eye appeal. Too long of a dip ,not good either.
IMHO I would leave it as is.

I agree with T-BOP; leave it as is. I think a dip would do more harm than good, and I kind of like the look of it in it's current state.

Don't touch her. That toning is actually highlighting the details you like so much. And the eye appeal is nice already

Please, leave it alone! If you do not like it, sell it to someone who will appreciate it (and I feel that is a strong market).

No I haven't tried any acetone or anything ..
The coins is actually slabbed by NTC as EF 45 and in my opinion has the detail of a 53-55 coin ..
That's why I was curious if a dip might take that dark tone off as I though that may have been why they undergraded it , or maybe NTC is all the sudden super conservative lol ...
I was more or less just curious , I thought that possibly the toning could be removed and I could save the coin back until anacs had another special and hopefully get an AU grade while getting The coin in a legit slab ...
It was just a thought ,so since there's not a big jump in value from 45 to 53 and you guys don't think the toning will come off easy I will be leaving it as is!

I appreciate everyone's replys.
I don't have much experience dipping coins , I've only done a handful of slightly toned Mercury dimes and a few Walking Liberty halves which all turned out really nice but none of those coin were toned as heavily as this quarter ...

NTC grades should just be ignored and considered nothing more than a holder like a 2x2
