hi guys dcc here I have a 1975 2 cent coin it has only been stamped on the head side anybody else have one, any idea what caused it any idea on what it might be worth
It's not really possible to get a coin struck only on one side; there has to have been something there on the other side, for the coin to be struck against. For this to be a genuine "mint error", there would have to have been a completely blank die made and inserted into the coin press.
It's far more likely that somebody (with herpetophobia, maybe?) has simply ground away the reverse side. It's also possible that it fell into a washing machine or dryer, and stayed in there for awhile. In either case, it's considered "post mint damage" and not a mint error, and not worth more than face value.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
