I've never really looked at uncut sheets before, but I have recently picked up a sheet of 4 $5.00 notes cheap. After looking there doesn't seem to be a really high premium attached to any of these sheets. Do you think these could be a sleeper item that will explode in value down the road, or are they always just gonna be a novelty worth face plus a couple dollars?

I have a set of the uncut $1.00 and $2.00 (4 to a page) in a folder of sorts and no, I don't see any premium being attached to them in the future. Just a novelty of sorts is my opinion.

I like the older ones (1976 and before).

My favorite is an 18 subject sheet of 1953 $2 red seals I picked up at a coin shop for something like 1200$ about 10 years ago. I got it framed and get to enjoy it every time I walk into my office. It is one of 100 sheets issued and is not in the census.

As far as investments go I don't think most of the newer stuff has much potential. The only sheet post 76 that commands a big price is the 16 subject 1976 $2 star sheet from Kansas City. I've seen em but never owed one.

The uncut sheets remain on sale at the BEP in various configurations. Plus, these sheets are set aside specially for collectors thus are likely to survive whereas the older ones such as red seals and silver certificates were saved by collectors writing to the Treasury asking to purchase them.

My brother was able to pick up some four notes sheets with star notes... I think there is a premium on those as well.

Something like this might have a small premium attached to it, but the newer stuff not so much.
