1944P-1DO-007

Going through a bag of beat up wheats hoping to save a few.

This 1944-P Lincoln Cent appears to shows moderate extra thickness on all outer devices.

I think its a match...

Any comments, feedback or suggestions welcome

The 1944 is not the 1944P-1DO-007. Note the class 6 doubling on the date? Note the verticals on the 44? You can see the extra width on the 9 and the crossbar reductions on the 44.

You coin looks normal to me. The marks on LIBERTY are master die doubling that is found on a lot of wheat cents.

So when you see this, it is on many years of cents.

The 1945 I would need to see other areas of the face to see it that area is reduced or not on the eye.

I believe coin counting and wrapping machines sometimes flatten outer devices making them look thicker.

Also vending machines:

These were used back in the Wheat cent era.
