I know without pictures this will be difficult , so I will give my best description :
Picked up a strong XF 17s buff.
There are a lot of very fine/thin vertical scratches between the buffs 2 pairs of legs.
I had to use my 16x loop and tilt in the light to see them.
The coin otherwise is very nice.
Could these be die polish lines ?
Where someone removed corrosion or some other substance ?
Any insights would be appreciated.
Thanks, John

Folks not all have camaras and the ability to download pictures.
If someone could give a description of what die polishing lines look like that would be helpful.
Thanks, John

Die polish lines are raised. Scratches are recessed.

If you need a 16X power device to see them, not worth worrying about.

Well said, bandsdean.

I suspect from your description, vanbroj, that someone rubbed the nickel with a cloth. If so, it might look like any metal that has been polished if you were to examine the polished metal under magnification.
