Is it Machine Doubling or is it the real deal. The bottom floor of the memorial is doubled. Any opinions please?

Some chance that's a doubled die. There are at least two dies known for that date where the floor of the memorial building is doubled.

As CC says, it is possible. Check for extra knees on Lincoln as well.

I, too agree that it is very possibly a doubled die. It is one of the rev errors that I keep my eye peeled for.
The doubled knees are very commonly seen. Mostly with the doubling, (a bar, or bars) of one, or at times both the 6th and 7th columns. The doubled floor, as in this photo, is very rare. IMHO

Fourzone.,agreeing with copprecoins here.if you have not yet checked out C.C."s I encourage you too.IE. https://www.coppercoins.com . I've first hand experience in findinfg these 2004 - D DDR's .many are overlooked ,in respect too , the doubled die, devices: include often more than is noted in reference to particular doubled die 'Dies'.so with suggestion i'll include what 'else ' I've seen on the 2004-D DDR's. 1st check the upper bays for doubling .2.nd check for extra pillar 'rements'of either the 6,7 or eighth pillars. note * 6th and 7th pillars are those 'on either side of lincoln (6th bay is where lincoln sits).3.rd check both sides of the E.PLURIBUS UNUM FOR DOUBLING. NOTE MOST ARE 'DOUBLED TO THE EAST'. 4.TH TINY BUT NEAT DOUBLING OF SOME OF THE "WAVES" BOTH DIRECTIONS OF mem building /top/last another tiny doubling occures with pillars along their edges (adding 'some extra width)yet easy seen as:true doubled die caused .yes there are; seperation and rounded devices on these pilllars (3,4)common to the east and also (8,9)to the west..best of happy searching to ya. later mark h.
