The vast majority of Ikes were used in Las Vegas casinos and can still be found in quantity in Nevada. I have a honey hole that I get them from 1000 5000 at a time

I just came away with a $20 roll of IKEs from the bank today. Don't yet know what's inside but will post tomorrow. Hope I landed a proof!

With Ikes you never get skunked! They are such cool coins.
A lot of people will pay over face to get them.

Oh I plan to keep them all for now. I do like the IKE series a lot- it's one that is doable with a small budget, though I wasn't aware of the 72 varieties until you educated me. I went back and looked at my Ike collection and I have only the Type 3 1972. I do have both varieties of 76, 76D and 76S. So now I guess I have to get a few more to really complete the set. I got excited when I got them because the teller said she had someone come in recently with Ike-sized dollar rolls to deposit and she bought them and they were loaded with Morgan and Peace dollars mixed with the Ikes. She must have searched my $20 roll already, but she can't count.

This was helpful and interesting! I am interested in collecting Ike dollars, and will see if I can find any rolls at the nearby banks. The coin store also has some loose Ikes. I am sure there are no big treasures there- but you can fill up some holes!

I've never even seen a roll for Ikes. Wow, I got some one time from a BOA, a bag of about 50 of them. Of course, the guy told me right away there wasn't any silver, but I didn't care. They are really neat, and big!

I just got another $20 in IKES from the bank and it had several AU-BU pieces, but nothing else major. I plugged a couple more holes in my set. I'm still missing the 72 T1 and T2, and of course the 73 and 73D.
The teller referred to them as "Bo" dollars. Why is that?

While cashing in some searched through pennies I noticed a huge coin sitting in the tellers tray. It turned out to be a 1972D Ike. I asked if I could get that back as part of my change and he said no problem. So I cashed in $10.34 in pennies and got back $16.34 as the Ike is worth $6 for it's silver.

Jewelcard, like I said in the other thread, no silver in the 72-D Ike. Not sure if you saw this yet... All of the Silver Ike dollars came from San Francisco, but not all San Francisco minted Ikes are Silver! 71-S and 72-S were 40% Silver Clad 73-S, 74-S, and 76-S came in both Cu-Ni Clad and 40% Silver Clad. 77-S and 78-S were only Cu-Ni Clad Edit: Forgot to add, you still did good! Any friend of the Ike dollar is a friend of mine.
