The 1 looks repunched or something.

Very nice example of a DP1 in EF condition. This coin is quite scares. It is on page 295 of 65th Edition of Charlton Standard Catalogue and also in the Haxby catalog Obv. 57 Rev J16b http://www.vickycents.com/rev-j16b.html

Actually, there are signs of re punching with the '5' and '9' also, and therefore, I suspect that the entire date has been re punched.
