Also, depending upon which direction you head on this one, the following photo could help:

This shot is a tilted view of the obverse bust attempting to display the height of the device etc.

Because of the inactivity on this thread I thought it would be appropriate to acquaint the silent but still interested followers of an update which the viewers can read about at:

https://goccf.com/t/111826

This older thread contains the verified details of what most likely is a $ 175(VF-20) instead of a $ 50(F-12) retail-priced 1885 1/4 Rupee coin according to NGC's site. It's important to note that although this referred-to thread's title reads, 'British India 1940 1/4 Rupee Bombay mint 2 different types', the pertinent specifications and pricing information within this thread regarding the varieties for the 1885 India-British 1/4 Rupee begins with the posts of 11/16/15 and later only.

Also, because of my lack of training in this series the third photo I posted in this thread attempting to show the bust's height using a cross sectional view was irrelevant since the adjective, 'raised', in the NGC description actually alludes to the height of the mint mark, 'B', and not of the obverse bust etc. Read on and salivate.

This entire analysis for this coin is very involved and very detailed: one of the most surprising ones I've ever been involved with for such a small coin.

19.3 mm

I have a few questions on this.

1) Could someone provide a web site for this type coin that lists similar features: info.(diameters, thicknesses or any other characteristics that could help to differentiate the different varieties of this coin...)?

2) Do most agree based upon the grade that the retail list for this coin is $ 175.00 USD for VF using:

http://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide/...-duid-337382 ?

3) I have never submitted a non-US coin to PCGS for grading and variety attribution. Does this particular coin's features, 'Type B Bust, Type I Reverse' qualify it for submission be attributed by PCGS?
