Good stuff, I hope the scratches on the plastic, does it look cleaned in hand? It might just be me, but I have a couple ICCS that looked cleaned/hairlined to me, but no mention of it. Either way, it is a very nice coin, I hope to add one to my collection one day.

The lighting and camera I use really bring out the flaws in the flip and coin. The coin obviously isn't perfect but it does look way better in hand. A lot of what you're seeing in the photos is on the flip. I get these responses every time I post an ICCS coin.

Quote: vf 30 - Cleaned, maybe EF 40 This was my guess exactly..but you posted the result too quickly.. The 84's are so tough to get right. Almost always very weakly struck and usually showing a very weak center in the rev and obv.. Always very tough in the higher grades..and in the MS grades it's tougher than the 21..

Sorry guys, was a little trigger happy there. I will post a couple other coins later and leave them up for a couple days. Quote: Always very tough in the higher grades..and in the MS grades it's tougher than the 21.. Never knew that, very interesting very low mintage for the 1884, 200000 I think. I had to splurge to get this one and could never afford an MS example. would love to see one though. Someone posted a link to Empire auctions earlier and I couldn't even look at the 5 cent pieces, all high MS examples....Who can afford these coins?
