Anyone ever bought from chards.co.uk? taxfreegold.co.uk?

I found that they have a coin I am looking for....but they don't have a picture, they don't accept electronic payments like PayPal and wanted me to send a check with a printed out order form.

I couldn't believe it, I felt like I was back in the 1990's or something. They state that they are updating their web site, but it all sounded too fishy for me. I was not willing send hard earned money to England just to have it disappear on me.

The taxfreegold.co.uk web site have been used as a reference on CCF, but I haven't seen that anyone has actually bought from them.

Chards aka taxfree gold are in Blackpool England GB just up the road about 90 miles from Liverpool

Sold to them quite a few items also bought from them via mail and in person at their premises

I would say that if you sent them a bank cheque / draft you will get your coin.

RE taxfree gold that's just one of their web sites as they do have a few all trading from same address

I sold them some coins about 2 years back that I had listed on my web site with photos now they claim I stole photos off their web site to use on my web site strange as I have contacted them a few times over this but they never get back to me see my website http://www.numismatic.biz/worldc/goldcoins.htm also their website http://taxfreegold.co.uk/worldwidec...aticbiz.html

Paypal do charge a fee, it could be they only accept cheques to keep the prices down but I am amazed that they don't just accept paypal and pass the fee along.

What they said about Numismatic Biz stealing images it tantamount to slander/libel. (never sure of the difference :S ) They basically say "this man uses one of our images and therefore must be a rogue trader and untrustworthy"

This seems particularly harsh...I wouldn't use out of principle.

What coin did you like Harrison? They didn't appear to have anything out of the ordinary on their site perhaps it is something we could find another source for?
