Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have a medal that I have been able to identify somewhat with one link.

http://www.noble.com.au/auctions/lot?id=303440

It gives some good info, but it doesn't tell enough, such as what percent silver it is...but it does use the word silver in the description and the one in the link sold for $120.

Mine weighs 37.7 grams. It has a diameter of 46 mm. It is non-magnetic.

Mine is off center slightly.

If anyone knows anything about this more than what I could be find, it would be great if you could share.

I am trying to figure out what the base metal is and whether mine might be genuine or not.

The link has pictures which magnify.

I have included the pictures of mine.

I don't think it looks genuine. Details are not sharp enough, edging is especially telling I think, no sharpness, this medal looks cast while the genuine in the link is struck. Worst yet, it looks like it has a false patina one expects to see on Chinese counterfeit coins.

Thanks for confirming with a second opinion Alan. I think you are right. A cool conversation piece and nice to look at now and then, even if it didn't turn out to be silver or worth too much.
