I won this 1836 Coronet Large Cent for only $17.96 -- it's a Newcomb N-6 (R2-), rim break 7-8 stars (Noyes Die State B)

Seller pictures, what are your thoughts on a grade?

I think F12 is correct.
CQR calls N-4 an R-3, though. Or is the Cud a scarce die state for the variety?

GERMANICVS -- Updated post. After checking Noyes it is actually a Newcomb N-6, rim break between stars 7 & 8. Noyes die state B.

I need updated reference material but it is VERY expensive and hard to find.

Currently using:

Noyes - 1991 (books 1, 2, 3) h/c
Newcomb - 1985 h/c
CQR - 11th (1992). I want 20th, it's impossible to find.
Grellman - 2nd edition (1987), signed by Bob! h/c
Sheldon - Penny Whimsy (1976) h/c
EAC Grading Guide h/c
Red Book 69th 2016 h/c

F-12. May have problems but it is awfully nice for your small expenditure.

VG8 details due to the light obverse porosity.

Great coin! Love the Cud and can't beat the price IMO. I am at VG-F slider. Likely a details coin in TPG holder.
