Hey, what's up everyone.. I have a Wheat back all beat up I'm having trouble identifying the date is a problem but let's put that on hold unless its necessary. Okay, it's like this I believe this coin is not copper and if it was it must've deteriorated... I did two test in confirmation to this.. 1. Magnetic test, the device was not attractive. 2. Flipped, the device had no ring to it when tossed.

As, you can see I'm a confused unsure of what this may really be can anyone tell what it is I have here I'm out of ideas all thoughts and opinions will be appreciated, thank you.

copper cents are not magnetic, so thats why it didn't stick to a magnet. the reason for no ring is most likely because of all that gunk stuck to it. its damaged so much its most likely not worth anything unless its a key date. try to soak it in acetone for a little while and see if that gunk peels off. its a normal copper Wheat cent, its just beat up

Extreme corrosion, maybe a cleaning, overall a beat up coin

It reminds of a coin that has dark colored and then dipped into something acidic. Then the darkened layers flaked off. The only thing missing is the pink color of the copper. But it may have lost that with age.
