Is this 1982 cent a different variation or diff dye? I also noticed what looks like tiny bubbles on the part of the cent behind Lincoln's head, left side of picture. The photos where only a portion of the cent is showing, there is an illumination of the cent that appears at the bottom where the black surface is. Had to use a darker filter to take out all the glare. And is there anything unusuals going ons with the " A" in states? Thanks

I also noticed that the lndividual letters on "ONE CENT" go big to small then small to big. The "C" is definitely smaller than all the others. Is there anything to this? Or all cents made that way?

Take your photos on a 90 degree angle and I think you'll find the letters are the same heights. You can usually compare to another coin of the same date and mint. For the most accuracy use the coin as your guide. Make your pics match the coin. I see nothing special on states.

I can't comment on varieties, but the bubbles you're seeing are from the zinc reacting with the plating on the coin. Lincoln cents were switched to mostly zinc in 1982 and it took them a few years to get the plating process perfected. They add no premium to the coin

Someone threw it on an element, causing bubbling and almost got to melting temp. Because it warped and flattened the "St" in states. Contact point on the stove prob.

It was a poor rinse technique they used then. It plated over stuff that clung to the planchet. (probably micro zinc dust) The rinse didn't remove it totally and we have the mess we see from that era. Even today we still spot it if planchets are not rinsed correctly.
