Seen these types of posts with ridiculously overpriced, misleadingly titled "error" coins before.

Besides LDS, what's up with this coin? LDS doesn't command a $699.90 premium in my eyes and I don't see any "double die" or "planchet error" or anything "super rare":

Just a very worn die. The fields usually have die flow, but these are even muddy on that coin. Just a coin from a VLDS die.

That's what I figured. Isn't there a way to take these listings down? I tried to make an offer to pay $0.10 and add a comment telling them this isn't an error and explaining what it really is. It's too bad ebay restricts the amount to $0.99 minimum, I don't even want to risk overpaying a cent for a VLDS :D

Update:
I had a look at the user's other listings and found more grossly overpriced non-errors

A melted cent:

A VLDS Die Deterioration Doubling quarter:

Heavily inked $20:

The seller has been trying to sell crap like this for some time now. I sent him a message about some of his coins last year & he acted like he didn't care what it was.Basically his response was "If you don't like it,don't buy it" This is part of the reason I've lost interest in ebay

I don't know if it qualifies as an error coin or not. It certainly wasn't intended to turn out that way. If it does, the owner is not misrepresenting the coin. That would not make it right, but would make it legal. The owner may get away with it for now, but one day will pay. In the meantime, the buyer must beware. JMO

jasper62: I don't think he does care :D In his feedback the negative reviews have been people complaining about how rude he was so he replies with "Avoid this buyer." Haha, that's a great way to show customers you care

CoinMasters: He is listing Die Deterioration Doubling as double die and adding "Rare error" to entice and trick buyers. The "double dies" and other errors he is selling are so rare that there aren't even listings for them. Especially the "Rare" blow torched backyard job cent.

I should drop it though. :D I'm getting too heated over one filthy seller.

Oh, I see, Blue. Then he is misrepresenting it. That makes him an unscrupulous scoundrel. One day he will pay.

Bobby should be able to take this one down I think because he is claiming it to be an error and a variety when it's neither.

I looked on there today, I saw a 2004 Bison nickel. The guy was selling it for five cents and he was paying the shipping! It's true. lol and it sold.
