I found like 40 of these a few months ago and noticed they were all 2012-2015. I tested one in nail polish removing and it didn't do anything. I tried lightly removing it with manicure scissors without damaging it to no avail. I sell NIFC to people on ebay and this could make me like $10 profit if they don't have this stuff on them. Anyone know how to remove it safely without damaging them?

Hmmm if acetone did nothing I'm guessing it must be hardened enamel in which case I don't think it can be removed. But I must ask you omega, is it worth $10 to fiddle with them? Even if acetone worked you'd have to use a couple of bucks worth lowering that profit further. I bet you might get a premium if you list them in sets of say 5 and market them as stocking stuffers... old guys love buying stocking stuffers for the grandkids and such and coin collecting baby boomers that served might like em for that purpose. Just a thought

I would try an overnight soak in pure acetone, not nail polish remover. Make sure to use a covered container, preferably outdoors and most definitely away from fire or flame.

That is an idea. I may ask a fellow friend who is a part time dealer if he could use them. Or I may just try to sell them on here or ebay. 45 problem free halves to sell. obviously the one I tested I'll keep or,spend. Thanks.
Rest in Peace

I think you'll be a lot better off leaving them alone and selling them as they are.

Here are some that are on the bay now. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...&_sacat=4723

Not the same as yours but still......you never know.

Is that guy with the blue background and drawn ruler a well known seller? I've seen him pop up in alot of my searches for a year or two now. And for such a crude backdrop I'd say it's a good one because I always know I'm seeing "that guys" listings in searches

I'll bet lacquer thinner would remove it all, but god knows what you would get. Sell as is and move on.

I'd just leave them as is ...
If the nail polish remover didn't help at all then I wouldn't expect acetone to do any better ...

I disagree. Nail polish remover is seldom pure acetone. My wife has some that is acetone free, which is not so clearly stated on the label. I am not saying pure acetone will definitely work in this case, but that it must always be used instead of nail polish remover.

If it is a sticker the ourter surface of the sticker could be keeping the acetone from getting to the adhesives except at the very edge. An EXTENDED soaking myy be needed.
