Edit: Deleting all of this because it's worthless and I'm taking the pictures off of my photobucket account.

EDIT: After INCREDIBLY close inspection, I see that the missing portion of Lincoln does exist, but it's incredibly hard to see, and it's on the same level as the backround of the coin, making it seem to disappear.

The pot marks are gas bubbles from the zinc under the copper layer. The large one on his shoulder popped showing the intierior of the coin. As for the date, 1982 has two size dates, large & small, this might explain the difference.

Hm, never heard that it had 2 date sizes. Well, whatever. So you know how the zinc bubbles affect the value? I've seen a quarter planchet with a large laminate bubble go up to $150.

Yes , 82' had large & small dates & also some zinc & some copper....
The date difference is very noticeable if you get a few and compare them. To me the smaller date is not so much smaller , as it is clearer & more defined.

This is obviously a mostly zinc cent because in the popped bubble you see zinc. Although you're saying the date is smaller. Is it the whole date or just the 2?

Large, and small date. I think that someone heated this coin and used a Red hot small heated poker to put holes in it. Why, who knows. Put it back if you can.

the value of this cent is one cent...barely. within the next few years this coin will corrode until there is nothing left of it. Once the bubbles pop to reveal the zinc and expose it to the air its the beginning of the end for the coin. this is not an error just damage.
