I think I have what may be/or not 1975 DDO Lincoln Cent. The problem is I can't get any decent pics of my coin's possible doubling. Does anyone know where I may find pics of a 1975 DDO so that I may compare mine? I've searched online without any luck. Any help will definitely be appreciated.

I came across a 1975 DD myself. It has a doubled #5 in 1975 and the word Liberty has been double stamped. The letter "T" has been double stamped so that it is now flared at the top and a v shapped groove (line) runs diagonally across where the top of the "T" should be. The upper part of the diagonal is on the left side of the letter and the bottom part of the diagonal line is on the right side of the letter so that the letter now looks like a "Y" If you were to look at the coin under magnification the word looks like LIBERYY. the coin is in Extremely fine condition except for a couple of notches on the rim at the left and right sides. A very interesting piece to look at and as far as I know none have been reported anywhere. Does this coin sound similar to your coin?

We need to see pictures. Machine Doubling is extremely common and often mistaken for die doubling. I've never seen a 1975 DDO Lincoln either. Could be something new but hard to know without seeing a pic.

Thanks,
Bill

John Wexler's 1984 " Lincoln Cent Doubled Die" mentions at least one 1975 doubled die, can't remember the mint right off hand. There is no mention of a 1975 doubled die after that publication. CONECA does not list a 1975 doubled die, neither do we.

Not to say one doesn't exist, but I would have to see it up close to believe it.

Jay, the one I have doesn't fit that description. I recently got eye-clops so I hope I can get a closer look and get some pics up.

I can't wait to see your pics!

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
