Does anyone know of a web site or publication giving values on current finds? Copper coins only goes up to 2006. ebay is a bit insane so some of the values there are suspect.

Are you asking specifically for error coins?

U.S. Coin Digest book (Krause Publications),
give a good range of guide prices for U.S. error coins.

Yes, Current error coins. I know it takes a while to get them in Cherry Pickers or other publications.

The publications mentioned are excellent for giving you an idea of the value.

I think the best and most current information can be found by doing an advanced search for similar items SOLD on ebay.

I also think that the prices for error coins tend to be all over the place. They're up, they're down, and I am frequently surprised at how much they can change in a short period of time.

Supply, demand, eye appeal, people have to both know it exists and want it

If you mean a new just listed variety like your 2015 you could list one at high BID price on ebay and ask for offers to see what people offer to get a better gauge of what people will offer over a period of time.

IF you list at X and someone buys it no blink then it worth that or more. if no one buys but six people offer between m-p then you know somewhere between m-p etc.

Thanks Ocala and Buddy, good suggestions. I am trying to make up some list of approximate value of my coins. As I am getting a little long in the tooth, (getting old for you young people). When the coin collector in the sky calls this beat up old penny home I want the wife or kids to have some idea of value of my collection. Don't want them taken advantage of.
Rest in Peace

I understand completely.

I've been trying to do the same with my stuff since my sisters' kids will most likely be left with clearing out my house some day.

Since the values on everything changes with the market and spot prices etc. I've been marking stuff like this:

Silver spot price + some numismatic value
or
Silver spot price
or
Error = some premium value
or
Variety + high numismatic value

I use abreviations and note what I paid, if anything.

I am well aware that for them to get the FULL value would be a big job that they probably don't want, don't have the time for, and then there are storage problems, etc. I just want them to know not to just dump the best stuff for face value.
