Well its one more offender off the streets, no longer posing a threat to civil society.

Knowing our court system, even for aggravated homicide with gun specs, the sentence would have been too short if the perpetrator was successfully apprehended. Perpetrator's lawyers would have probably cited the defendants childhood and begged the court for mercy playing on emotion rather than the facts of the matter. Might have been back out on the streets in less than 10 years if the judge was a bleeding heart.

Yep I'm cynical like that. Seen it happen way too many times to expect better.
