The 'F' seal seems embossed on the backside. You can feel it when handling the note. Has anyone ever seen this before? Very nice condition. Personal added notation is dated '99, but that is when it was written. Bill is a '95. Any idea on rarity or value? Thanks!

You'd be embossed too, if you had a piece of sharp engraved steel pressing against your skin with tons of pressure being applied.

Since its "old" and in nice condition I'd keep it. if you get desperate you can always spend it.

This is commonly referred to as "punch-through embossing" and can be desirable for notes in high-end condition. This factor alone doesn't really add any additional premium -- More of an eye appeal thing for those crispy UNC notes.

That is a side effect of the intaglio printing process used for currency.
