Hi everyone, I am Jeff
I recently found a 77-P nickel I think is a misaligned die, obverse. Not 100% sure though; I just suspect it is, as I am new to collecting. I am still trying to learn as much as possible. Everything I have read thus far makes think it is a MAD nickel. Hope my pictures help yall help me out on this.
Thanks in advance

MADs are normally quite common but they are very uncommon when the misalignment is so severe that parts of the peripheral devices are missing, such as seen on your example. Nice find

Thanks guys!
If I set a value to it; what would it be ?
Highly unlikely I will sell it as this is my first error find.
I am still very new to this and I do not have much of a collection. I have 5-kids and one of my twin boys is very interested in searching and collecting. I have been doing it off and on for a couple of years total maybe. One night at home I showed him some pictures on my phone of some wheat pennies I found. He said I have some like that; I said really. He went and got them. I asked him why did you keep them, he replied " Because they are different" So I want to keep him interested. He is 10 years old.

I'm glad to hear that one of your kids is interested in collecting.
I agree that you shouldn't sell it, but if you chose to I don't think you could get too much over face. Although such a severe MAD is fairly uncommon, this one is stained and has clearly been through quite a bit of circulation.
