Hi folks,just thought would show you a recent detector find I made from a Roman site that has produced a few denarius over the years,but this is my first Pertinax from any site.Conditions not great as you can see.

Denarius of Pertinax, struck at Rome, AD193
Laureate head right.
Obverse Legend: IMP CAES P HELV [PERTIN AVG]
Reverse Description: Providentia standing left, raising right hand towards star.
Reverse Legend: PROVID DEOR COS II
References: RIC IV, 11a; RSC 43; Sear 6046

ver nice find , in Belgium detectors are forbiden,I think . I found once a neolithical arrowhead in my garden.albert

All of you in Europe are lucky to live in a place that has ancient history right in your back yard! Here in the states everything is new, which is not necessarily bad, but I can't help but think of how awesome it would be to have ancient history in your backyard.
