Evidently produced by the government at its Mexico City mint. Undenominated, and the only references to it I've found don't shed much light on the reason for its issue or the circumstances under which it was distributed, also no mintage quantity given, and only state they're silver without specifying the purity.

39.6mm in diameter, weight just under 27.2 grams. Plain edge. Very high relief strike, so much so that stacking them would not be a practical proposition. It certainly can't be crammed into an Air-tite.

I suppose I could determine its specific gravity to get an idea regarding its composition, but I'd think that information has to be out there somewhere.

Very possibly this is indeed one such, especially since 1970 just happened to be the 25th anniverary of the FAO (United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization, for those of you who aren't familiar with the acronym), and "agricola" medals constituted one of the documented types.
