Sold this on ebay, but the buyer have sent it back for a refund, believing it fake. He will get his refund is it good or bad, but would like to know. Real silver? Original? fake from the time or modern? Looks old
Heavy Large Variant Of The Chinese 1914 Silver Dollar Coin 29,3 Grams and Diam Cm 3.9
It's a fake. Being off-weight is a huge red flag, plus:
- Denticles are weak on the reverse - Flow lines on the reverse--indicative of casting (or being struck from a cast die) - The details on the eyes aren't right - The coin feels "flat"--should have a lot more relief than your specimen - Compare the leaves on the reverse with a genuine piece from Google--the leaves should be in relief, not outlines.
Good for you for giving a refund! We need more sellers like you!
