Spent 10 Kennedy half dollars ($5) at a fast food restaurant. Surprisingly, the cashier said they collected coins and accepted them without question! It was an encouraging and happy cash interaction.

It has been nearly nine years since the original project ended and two separate topics were created.

That being said, the half dollar topic is much closer to the finish than the dollars...

$45,482 in dollar coins have been spent.

$73,889 in half dollar coins has been spent.
