Hmmm... I receive or spend dollar coins every day of the week. I get them in change from the fare vending machines (FVMs) on my local transit system, and I spend them around town without a second thought. We all get them the same way so noone around here bats an eye at them (except for confused tourists taking the train for the first time). But because I get them from the FVMs, I only get SBAs and newer designs. Meanwhile, I'm reading all your updates and see that many of you are dropping Ikes left and right. I have a few Ikes in my collection, but have never ever received one in change even when I worked retail for many years. So I would never drop an Ike - they're one of my favorite coins and I never find them in the wild. I've hit every bank in town and have feelers out in a few stores but nothing ccomes my way. Do you just have buckets of Ikes sitting around? I wish I had buckets!!
