I Think I really have my first True DDO and it is on my 1962 Proof Penny. Did I finally get one? Thanks Sandy

Nothing says DDO to me. I see some die wear and maybe some flat field doubling as a result of the multi strikes.

Really, you are saying that the IGWT is not actual Doubled Die?

Yes. Unfortunately. There is no separation or thickening of the devices.

When your new especially you should try to put arrows in your pics to show spots that you think are DDO. If you see separation or something let us know. Also for very small separation your pictures have to be closer and more focused.

Here is a pic of mine that is the most common DDO for that year . The doubling is obvious on the 6 and the 2

What type of holder is it in? Can you take the coin out and then take pics? As of now I do not see a DDO,sorry. John1

Thanks John1, yes very disappointing. No, I can't take it out. They are sealed in Hard plastic holder.
My nickel is getting a golden color to it though - it that a common occurrence from being sealed (if you know)?
