Parklane64 Rest in Peace United States 2668 Posts	Posted 12/11/2015 8:53 pm Howdy from Fresno. I enjoy going to Oakhurst, where 49 starts, and driving north. Beautiful country, but if you want to live in the bucolic Sierra Nevada's you need to be aware of temperatures, winds, insects, and fire danger. Oh, and the local oddballs. Haven't been to Auburn, wife and I usually drive north until it starts getting dark and then turn around. I did recreational gold dredging for a while. Very comparable to recreational ditch digging. This was up north near the Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park. Gold nuggets do bring a premium. Still got a vial of flakes. Yup, there are people that collect both.
