There was a UK seller with auctions for several 1878 CC Morgans and I somehow managed to win all three tonight, oops.

This one is the best of them, I'd appreciate your help with the grade. I'll keep this one and sell on the other two I think.

Vf25 maybe cleaned hard to tell. Could just be circulation wear.

I'm going to "homer call" it here - forgery.

The mintmark is awful.

The date is too large and set too far to the left.

The obverse rim is funky, and the surface appears to have casting porosity/pits.

Just my $1.

Agree VF-25 and likely cleaned, but don't know enough about this date to know if it's a fake.

That's very disappointing.

Haven't paid for them yet, I suppose my best option is to receive the coins and then request a return.

I would wait till you have in hand and then post more pictures before you arrive at a decision.

Photos sometimes make things look weird or wrong when in reality there are not problems to be found

I mean, it isn't difficult to grade this coin. We don't know what you paid, but what were you hoping for? What did you think this was?

Not especially worried about the grade, as they weren't expensive, just want them to be be the real thing.

If it's legit the grade is VF-25 details. But I agree the photo does makes me suspicious with that mint mark.
