I'm always wary of trying to grade coins with a non Roman alphabet, not knowing exactly how the characters should look leads me to under grade usually.

I'd welcome some opinions on these two please.

To me the veins in the leaves on the 2 Mils is the key and it looks like XF40 plus ---The 10 Mils is only F plus with wear showing on the date and the wreath

The problems with grading these is that all of the many high point in the design are of the same height above the fields and the tops of them are flat. That makes it difficult to grade the lettering, and that is why most people examine the leaves instead.

1.- I always go for the leaves when grading these.

2.- Also have a look at the fields with a high powered loupe, not looking for wear, but similarity of surface roughness compared to other circulated coins for grade.
3.- Remaining mint lustre can also be a guide.

With the last two points in mind a bit difficult to grade from pictures.
Instead, and using those last two points as a guideline, now have a go for yourself, and let us know what your own opinion now is.

Going by the leaves, I'd put the 2 mil as British XF and the 10 as F. Thanks for the input.

I was settling on XF-45 for the 2 mils and VF-20 for the 10 mils, thinking more flatness of strike than wear.

2 mils I'd say au50 and Ef40 on the 10 mils my best guess
