Any Ideas what a person would do with 20 rolls of 1973 Quarter Horse quarters, just bought them at face from a fellow who saved everyone he ever saw. Maybe I should let the herd run wild again?

Check for a large bust if you haven't. t's your choice, but if you let them back into circulation no one will ever see them again. ARP will melt them all down. A branch manager once told me they were trained to pick out any silver and nickel coins to send back to the Mint.

I'd search the rolls for Large Busts, and while doing that, pick out anything uncirculated and spend the rest. Maybe put a few in some 2x2's to put in the kids' stockings to maybe spark some interest in the hobby.

I collect 1973 mountie quarters with clips. That's something to look for. Even if there's nothing special in the hoard, you should be able to re-sell it for a small profit I would think.

You can look for details in the hair, LB is pretty soft, while SB is well defined. Distance of the beads from the rim also works, on the OBV LB beads are very close to the rim, where the SB are farther out.

Check them for the large bust or errors and then spend them. I had some saved and just this past Friday cashed in five rolls at a local drug store.
