I just went through 20 cwr and found 1-1963 in AU condition. Everything else was 1970 or newer. I haven't found ANYTHING worth mentioning since before Thanksgiving.

Pretty good box today. Found a 1943-P and S, as well as a Fine 1937 buffalo. Two beavers and 20 pence found as well. Got a very nice AU-58 1963 like hockingzig as well.

Finished my first full box of nickels!
I found about 30 pre-60 nicks including a '49-S!
Also found 2 dateless buffalos. (my first buffalos ever)
Also found seven 2009-D. Relatively low mintage there so I might as well save them.

Upon closer inspection of one of the buffalos, I have made out what appears to be a "19" in the space of the last two digits. The 9 is distinct but the supposed 1 is a bit mushy. Looks like I've got a 1919.  |

Awesome Kefiroth! The only buffalo I managed to pull is completely datless.
Nice on the 09 also. I was only able to find 2 of these, 1 P&D.

Greetings all,
After a discouraging $50 purchase last week that turned out to be all 2010P nickels (now all part of a catch and release program) had some decent luck with purchases Friday and today. Fifty on Friday, twenty today. The twenty rocked it! No non-Canadian foreign here either. Oh bother! Thanks for looking!

I went through one box of nickels today and found the following: *1 War Nickel ('44-P) *27 Pre-'60's Jeffersons *2 Bermudas *2 Canadians This is the first nickel hunt in a while where I didn't find a single Buffalo. Also, I have found several 1939 nickels (No D's or S's), but I have yet to find a 1938 nickel (Buffalo or Jefferson) or any 1938 coin in circulation. |

Great finds everyone.  For me .... the joy of nickel roll searching is the 'treasure hunt' .... the very next roll could contain any of a multitude of treasures from 50+ year old coins, silver, foreign coins, etc. Keep on sharing! David Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art |

Just finished my 26th box - which makes me realize I have now been doing this for exactly one-half year. Mini-milestone I suppose.
The biggest finds were a 1947-S and a 1939-D. With the finding of the '39-D, I only have 4 more to go to finish my circulation set (1939-S, 1943-D, 1950, & 1950-D) - at least until the 2011 ones hit circulation.
If anyone is interested, I post all my results for nickel and cent roll searching on my blog.

Went through 5 boxes, found these.  That's 17 proofs I've found so far. This one being the oldest and my newest being a 2008. Also found a '50 Canadian, another 2009D and 2 more War Nickels. |

Excellent ..... great fun by all and really appreciate the photos Bowfin. Those Liberty are tough to come by today. For me ..... just passed through 235,200 coins searched .... still need two .... 38-S and 43-D to complete my circulation strike set. I'm not giving up .... but wondering if it will ever be done? Went through one box of nickels and found 27 pre-1961 Jeffersons, 4 Canadians, and one dateless Buffalo. I had some Nic-a-Date on hand, so I applied it to the date area to reveal 1918. It seems that now there's a pattern to the boxes I search; I find at least one War Nickel in one box and at least one Buffalo in the next. |
